Peter's Bio:
Commander Peter J. Fitt is a Port Logistics practitioner who qualified as a Master Mariner before going on to study Industrial Engineering. As a young man he was responsible for developing one of the first Shipboard Planned Maintenance Schemes for a large shipping company. He progressed to becoming the Human Resources Development Manager for the largest freight company in Africa, he designed Mobilization and Manpower Planning Systems for the South African Navy.From there, Peter went on to implement Supervisory Training as the HR Manager of a Stevedoring Company. In 1985, he founded the South Africa Maritime School and Transport College whose primary role is the conduct of courses in the Maritime Industry. Centered on the Port of Durban, courses were also conducted in 11 countries in Southern Africa.
He settled in Canada in 2001 where he expanded upon the concept of making maritime training accessible to everyone, no matter where in the world they live, and the on-line courses were developed.
Peter and the team at WCMI now conduct online courses worldwide.
Located in Beautiful Victoria, British Columbia Canada, the team at WCMI works year round to provide top-notch maritime courses to students around the world through email, YouTube videos, blogs and online coversations.
